Semi Dedicated Servers

From a technical stand point of view, a semi dedicated server is a dedicated server shared by a finite number of clients, each client benefiting from a distinct virtual dedicated server with shared guaranteed resources. Basically, a dedicated server with a processor that contains 6 physical cores will be shared to a maximum of six clients who choose a Standard package or by a single client with a Enterprise package and 2 clients with a Standard package; Each semi dedicated server will be allocated exclusively a fixed number of CPU cores, according to the package chosen.

The disk storage for Semi Dedicated Servers is allocated as follows:
- both Professional and Enterprise packages have, for the allocated storage space, two 250 GB HDDs, configured as RAID-1 array type.
- for the Standard package, a single RAID 1 array is offered, with a 100 GB storage capacity. Two 250 GB HDDs will be configured with a maximum of two such arrays.

To obtain the Semi Dedicated Servers, we use the full virtualization method which will ensure the following technical advantages:
- the RAM memory is guaranteed in accordance to the commercial offer from the contract.
- the Operating System is at client's choice, as it does not interract with the Operating System of the host machine, or that of the other clients hosted on that machine
- a web remote access console, that will allow both the monitoring of the resource consumption and an acces to restart the virtual server.

Installing of the Semi Dedicated Server: We provide the full installation of the server, including the services required for it to function properly (Apache, Mysql, cPanel, firewall, antivirus, antispam, etc). We will also provide support in identifying the scripts installed on the server, that generate errors.

The main differences between a Semi Dedicated server and a cluster VDS / VPS are:
- the Semi Dedicated Servers have a larger storage space, but this kind of storage does not provide the performance that you find at a professional IBM cluster found in our Cluster VPS/VDS package
- the Semi Dedicated Servers does not provide de high-availability technology specific to a cluster VPS/VDS. With the Semi Dedicated Servers, in case of a hardware failure we guarantee the change of the defective part in one hour, while with a Cluster VPS, the services are automatically moved to another server of the same node without downtime.
